Santa Fe, New Mexico’s capital, sits in the Sangre de Cristo foothills at an elevation of over 7,000 feet.
Founded as a Spanish colony in 1610, Santa Fe is brimming with influence of nearly four centuries of Spanish and Mexican rule. The town is renowned for its Pueblo-style architecture and as a creative arts hotbed Santa Fe boasts hundreds of art galleries, a variety of museums, opera and trademark architecture.

At its heart is the traditional Plaza (where all of the suggested hotels are located), which has been the center of downtown Santa Fe for nearly 400 years, hosting craft markets, historic monuments, restaurants, and art galleries.
